Super Bowl Tickets Dolphin Stadium

imageSuper Bowl XLIV will officially kickoff on February 7, 2010. The Super Bowl is by far the most watched televised broadcast in America. It is estimated that approximately 93.2 million people viewed last year’s Super Bowl. That gives you aclue of how big it really is. Almost 100 million people observe the Super Bowl every single year. A lot of sought-after singers and musicians perform during the pre-game and at the half time ceremonies of the game. The game day of Super Bowl is also known as “the Super Bowl Sunday”. It is today considered to be an American Tradition to watch Super Bowl on Sunday. Next to Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Sunday is the greatest U.S food consumption day. It is estimated that Americans eat over one ton of food during the Super Bowl Sunday game. The exclusive television broadcasting rights for the Super Bowl Sunday change among the major American Television networks. The commercial airtime for the Super Bowl broadcast is the most expensive form of advertising due to its high amount of viewers. 30 seconds, and thirty seconds only, of advertising time during the 2010 televised broadcast is expected to cost $3.01 million. The Super Bowl always ignites a flame of excitement that cut across all humanism, descents and class. Bridgestone Super Bowl XLIV (44Th edition) will be no exception. In fact, it promises to be ”bleeding-hot’. From the pre-game to the halftime show, Dolphin Stadium in South Florida will be on the shackles of fully loaded entertainment from start to end. Bridgestone will be sponsoring the Super Bowl halftime show for the third time in a row. The Championship Game will be exclusively produced by White Cherry Entertainment and broadcast live in the USA on CBS. In addition, this marks the first time consecutive super bowl championship football games will be in the same state consecutively. Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the association of professional American football leagues. The Super Bowl Sunday, which is the day of the year set aside for the big game, has since the onset evolved into an unofficial US holiday. On this day each year, hundreds of millions of people stay glued to watch the match broadcast live to almost all nooks and crannies of the earth. The super Bowl is in fact America’s most-watched TV broadcast.  Super bowl Sunday is also America’s most food consumption day after Thanksgiving Day. The game itself is too big and celebrated that the facilitators have had to rotate broadcasting rights between four major media corporations.  Many top American bands have performed at various times for the super bowl pre-game and halftime shows. The 2010 Super Bowl XLIV Halftime show promises even greater entertainment as it brings to life that history of fulfillment. One of the World’s finest rock bands, the pride of Great Britain, The WHO will be on stage to do what they know how to do best– make the people in the stadium and millions of TV viewers go crazy! You can buy discount Super Bowl XLIV tickets for providing promo code ” 44 ” at checkout on TicketsGenie.com. NFL tickets are also available for all other football games. The WHO band members are the diamonds of rock music. They emerge to the public forefront in the early 1960s and are still waxing strong. Very few rock bands could get close to what they have accomplished. With an almost distinctive style of music flavoured with punk and the very best of rock music, you will definitely feel your soul dancing.  The group does not only have the pedigree in terms of record sales, over 100 million copies and still counting  to boot, but have also earned awards to show that they are worth their salts. In 1990, they were inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of fame. Just last year they became the first ever rock group to receive an award from the prominent and coveted Kennedy Center.

Classic Rock and Kiss

imageFor those around in the 70s, when rock and roll was really taking flight, it is most likely you remember the band KISS. Formed in 1972, this band is most memorable for its members whose who wore flamboyant outfits and painted their faces. The anonymity of the group intrigued followers along with their elaborate stage performances that included breathing fire, spitting blood, guitars that smoked and more. While these tactics may seem over-the-top today, it earned KISS over 24 gold albums and sales that exceeded 80 million. The idea of face makeup stemmed from the band’s desire to mimic comic book figures. There was the Demon, Gene Simmons; Starchild, Paul Stanley, Spaceman, Ace Frehley, and Catman, Peter Criss. Each person picked a character that best represented their personality. It wasn’t until 1983 that the band members from KISS performed without makeup.KISS beginnings came from Gene Simmons, whose real name was Chaim Witz, and Paul Stanley, also whose real name was different than his stage name (Stanley Harvey Eisen). The two started a band called Wicked Lester. After recording one album, they abandoned the group in 1972 and formed their new group. Peter Criss, drummer, joined the duo and the three focused on a harder style of rock than from the Wicked Lester days. In early 1973, lead guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group and it was formally then called KISS. The idea came from Criss, whose former band was called Lips. Frehley designed the logo, making the “SS” appear like lightening bolts. Because the letters resembled the Nazi SS, a symbol illegal to display in Germany, the group changed the albums cover and merchandise in Germany to a modified logo that appears like backwards Z’s. In March of 1973 the band recorded a five-song demo tape. On November 1, 1973, KISS became the first act signed to Buddah Records, later renamed Casablanca Records. KISS first started touring February 1974 in Canada. Initially KISS sold only 75,000 copies of their album. In 1974 they recorded their second album, Hotter Than Hell. This album didn’t do well either. In 1975 a third album, Dressed To Kill was released with the groups trademark song “Rock and Roll All Nite.” The band continued to struggle until September of 1975 with the release of Alive!, which earned KISS a first top 40 single, a live version of “Rock and Roll All Nite.”It wasn’t until the ballad “Beth” was released as a single did album sales rebound for KISS. The song “Beth” was a #7 hit for the band. After this, the band released two highly successful studio albums in less than a year, Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun. Between 1976 and 1978, KISS earned $17.7 million from record royalties and music publishing. KISS was soon named the most popular band in American in 1977. Between sales from music and KISS merchandise, the band was bringing in millions of dollars. The group didn’t peak until 1978 when Alive II the band’s fourth platinum album, achieved its highest average. Drummer Peter Criss did his final tour with the group in 1979. The band found replacement drummer Paul Caravellow, later named Eric Carr and gave him “Fox” makeup. In 1983, sensing it was time for a change; KISS made the decision to abandon their trademark makeup and costumes. They officially appeared in public without makeup for the first time on a September 18, 1983 appearance on MTV, which coincided with the release of the band’s glam metal new album, Lick It Up. Lick It Up became KISS’ first gold record in three years.  During these non-makeup years, KISS struggled with their identity and fan base. Simmons, arguably the dominating force in KISS during the ’70s, became less involved with the group in the ’80s as he pursued outside interests; most notably, a film career. After the band’s unmasking, he struggled with the loss of the Demon persona. During this time, Stanley became the driving force in KISS, as well as their most prominent member. Though the original band members haven’t played together in a while, the band is still quite notorious for all ages of listeners and an important part of rock and roll history.

Where I Comment on the Top 10 Radio Rock Songs of the Decade Pt. 1

imageThis list is according to the Neilsen recording chart of popularity of songs based on radio play in America. It is very depressing and makes me want to blow out my eardrums with a loud train horn. 1) Nickelback – “How You Remind Me” The continued popularity of Nickelback is an offensive gesture to humanity. Singer Chad Kroeger should not be allowed to open his mouth because the sound that comes out is not pleasant. I’m sure he thought that the lyrics to “How You Remind Me” were some of his most powerful and poetic lyrics ever (“Never made it as a wise man / I couldn’t cut it as a poor man stealing”) but instead, they were barely better than the stuff coming out of 8th grade Intro to Poetry. This song was all over the radio to the point where even the band itself had to be getting sick of it. 2001 was not a good year for radio rock. 2) Train – “Drops of Jupiter” Another 2001 rock song, and one of the last in a thankfully dead obsession that America had for a while with stale, boring middle-of-the-road rock n’ roll. This overplayed song with terrible intergalactic/space metaphors was brought back from the dead (damn you!) by Ace Young on the fifth season of American Idol, selling over 100,000 downloads, despite being originally released years before digital download became popular, proving even more that American Idol really does have a sort of cult-like power over 12 year old girls and 40 year old women. 3) Lifehouse – “Hanging by a Moment” Kill me already. Lifehouse could be swapped with Train and nobody would really know the difference. Both of them meddle in soft, harmless radio rock that your mom can bop her head to. One listen to that voice today and it brings back bad memories of how bad rock was in the early 00s, how every male singer strived hard to sound as weak as possible. Everything about this song screams overproduced and the requisite huge electric guitar burst during the “epic” chorus is unforgivably contrived. I’m glad that Lifehouse are not a joke for 00’s nostalgic comedians. 4) Faith Hill – “Breathe” Horrible 5) 3 Doors Down – “Kryptonite” I’m not going to lie, I owned this album. I also tried to play along with the drums on my drum set. This song was number one on the charts for eleven consecutive weeks. Think about that people, eleven weeks…that’s almost three months of non-stop 3 Doors Down. What was wrong with people? The one great thing about digital music piracy is that people don’t have to flood their radio call stations with requests to hear the same song over and over since they can keep their horrible musical tastes confined to their own iPod now. A apropos note from wikipedia about “Kryptonite” is that it played “during the freestyle of Superman monster truck at Monster Jam events.” I have nothing else to say, folks.
